More good news from Blackmagic Design: DaVinci Resolve will now support the RED Rocket board on Mac and Linux.

The board, which allows for hyper-accelerated decoding, transcoding and debayering of 4K .r3d files, is supported as a plug-and-play addition to any existing Resolve system. Linux systems will also be able to support stereoscopic .r3d playback with dual Rockets.

Other new features promised for Resolve V7.0 (which is currently in beta testing) include new stereoscopic grading and monitoring tools and improved support for CineForm codecs, DNxHD, ProRes and H.264 formats.
