Some Pro Tools audio forum
users have been getting a little fidgety of late, waiting for the
promised full compatibility between PT and OS X Lion. Now, Avid has
put their minds at ease with the 9.0.6 update, proving they still
very much care about PT 9 users now that Pro Tools
10 has launched.
While v9.0.5 introduced Lion support as a public beta, the
latest update is fully qualified, and includes fixes for all the
bugs users had spotted. These ranged from the widely irritating
"nothing happens when you hit play" gripe, to clip pans and
asymmetric audio fades not importing via AAF from Avid Media
Composer 6.
Other problems fixed in the 9.0.6 update
include:
- Pro Tools would momentarily freeze every minute after changing
the computer name in the OS X hostconfig file (as
recommended in System 5 and Pro Tools manual) and disconnecting
the computer from the Internet.
- Plug-in automation was lost when copying between multi-mono and
multi-channel versions of the same plug-in.
- When routing through a bus, Low Latency Monitoring would not
function properly.
- On Mac OS X 10.7.x ("Lion"), when changing buffer settings in
Playback Engine with the "Minimize Additional I/O Latency"
option enabled, Pro Tools would quit unexpectedly.
- In Destructive Punch mode, when punch commands are issued
within a couple seconds of play or start commands are
issued from a 9-pin controller connected to the dubber satellite
system.
