With Media Composer 6 now finally
shipping, Boris has jumped on board to offer a 64-bit version of
its Continuum plug-in suite to support Avid's latest release. It
might no longer be bundled in with Media Composer, but now is
definitely the time to get involved, with any purchase or upgrade
of Boris Continuum Complete 8 AVX half-price until the end of
December.
To see just how much of a saving that is, you could compare BCC
8 AVX to similar plug-in suites on the market. GenArts Sapphire for

Among those 200+ filters, there are 3D Objects such as Extruded
Text, 3D particle effects, image restoration tools, lens flares and
lights, chromakeying and compositing. There's also a full suite of
colour correction tools, time-based effects such as the Optical
Stabilizer, warp and perspective effects, blurs, glows and
cinematic effects.
As with BCC 7 AVX , the latest version's filters use either
OpenGL hardware acceleration or multicore processing to deliver
great-looking results, while an included Transfer plug-in allows
editors to share BCC effects sequences from Avid to After Effects
and Final Cut.
