If, like us (and the rest of the world), you've still got plenty of questions about the new Final Cut Pro X, you'll be glad to hear that Filmmaking Webinars will be hosting a free webinar entitled 'Getting Ready for Final  Cut Pro X' on Thursday 12th May.

CEO and founder of NewMediaWebinars.com, Marcelo Lewin will be hosting the event which will kick off at 10am PDT (6pm in the UK) and will last an hour and a half.

Philip Hodgetts, who is widely regarded as an expert in the field of digital media production, post-production and distribution will be presenting the topic material. He is especially recognised for his unique ability to FCP Interface On Macbook Prounderstand and develop workflows across all these areas for linear and interactive media. Philip has more than 25 years of experience across the entire production spectrum and  is also the author of many books including 'The New Now: Growing Your Production or Postproduction Business In A Changed and Changing World', 'The HD Survival Handbook' and  'Simple Encoding Recipes for the Web'.

FCP X has been completely and radically redesigned from the ground up and now features an interface similar to iMovie. This will signal a new way of editing and the transition to the new features will require some preparation. In this webinar, Philip Hodgetts will show what he knows that's new with Final Cut Pro X, what he doesn't know and what he hopes it will offer when it's released in June. He'll also cover other aspects connected to the new version of the suite.

Here is the agenda of the event:

•    The new timeline including magnetic timeline.
•    Pitch-corrected audio skimming.
•    Compound clips: why they are different to nesting sequences.
•    Editing while ingesting.
•    Auditioning: what is it?
•    New media management features.
•    'Fixing media' during ingest.
•    Background rendering.
•    Getting your FCP projects ready for X.
•    Retraining your staff.

You can attend this webinar for free by registering at Filmmaking Webinars.
