Case Study: Grange Farm Studio

grange farm studio 3.bmpGrange Farm Studio has evolved from a 200-year old barn. Blessed with stunning views and lots of natural light, it has been re-designed and lovingly re-built specifically for the studio purpose.

Acoustically designed by the Recording Architecture experts, Grange Farm Studio has recently opened after two years of construction.

Situated in the heart of Norfolk Fenland, just outside the village of Emneth and only 5minutes drive from Wisbech (20 from Peterborough), Grange Farm Studio is both peaceful and remote but also easy to find from major traffic routes. It's also just 45 minutes drive from Cambridge and 2 hours from London.

After travelling to Nottingham for an initial meeting to discuss requirements of the new build, studio manager Isobel Clarke decided on the new Digidesign C24 console to form the heart of the new control room, along with an Apple Mac Pro configured with a Digidesign HD2 Accel system and Digidesign 96 and 192 audio interfaces capable of handling large recording, mixing and post-production sessions.

In addition to the Pro Tools hardware acquired, Grange Farm added a selection of outboard and studio equipment including a Focusrite ISA 828 8-channel mic pre-amp, a pair of AKG C414 condenser microphones and the legendary NeumannU87 microphone to their arsenal of existing equipment.

Monitoring came from the excellent PMC TB2S-A  Active near-field monitors complemented by Auralex Roominator acoustic treatment kits.

Studio Manager Isobel had the following to say about her experience with us:

I've been a regular customer of Jigsaw's for quite a long time now and have always found them knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and great value: exactly the things you need from a retailer of this nature. I will, and always do, recommend them.
